100% Natural Body Mehendi Powder
Take the required quantity of body mehendi powder in a clean bowl. Add water, brewed tea, or other preferred liquid gradually to form a smooth, lump-free paste. Allow the paste to rest for a few hours as per traditional practice. Apply the paste evenly on clean, dry skin in desired designs. Let it dry completely and keep it on the skin for several hours for better stain development. Gently scrape off the dried mehendi; avoid washing with soap immediately after removal. For external use only.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture, with the pouch tightly closed. Avoid using if the powder develops an unusual smell, colour, or texture. For External Use Only. Patch test is recommended before use.

Frequently asked questions

Art quality henna is a finely sifted, body-art-grade powder made from the leaves of the henna plant (Lawsonia inermis). It is used to create mehndi, the beautiful temporary body art traditionally worn for weddings, festivals and celebrations. Mixed into a smooth paste and applied to the skin, it leaves a natural reddish-brown stain that lasts for days.
Mix the powder with lemon juice (or water), a little sugar and a few drops of a skin-safe essential oil into a smooth, lump-free paste. Cover and rest it for 6 to 12 hours to let the dye release, then fill a cone and apply your design. Leave the paste on for several hours, the longer it stays, the deeper the colour.
Pure, natural henna gives a stain that starts orange and deepens to a rich reddish-brown over 24 to 48 hours as it develops. It never stains jet black. If anyone offers a paste that stains black in minutes, avoid it, as that is not real henna.
Black henna is not true henna. It usually contains a chemical called PPD, which can cause severe skin reactions, blistering and long-lasting sensitivity, and should never be applied to skin. Genuine henna, like this one, is simply the green powder of the henna plant and stains a natural reddish-brown.
A few simple tricks help. Rest the paste before use, leave the design on as long as possible, keep the area warm, and avoid washing it for several hours after scraping off the paste. Dabbing on a lemon-and-sugar mix and applying a little natural oil afterwards also helps the colour deepen and last.
With good aftercare, a natural henna stain usually lasts from a few days up to about two weeks. It fades gradually and gently as your skin naturally exfoliates, rather than coming off all at once. Areas like the palms and fingertips tend to stain darkest and last the longest.
Yes, although a true allergy to natural henna is rare, a patch test on your inner arm 24 hours before use is always wise. Keep the paste away from the eyes, and avoid it on broken or irritated skin. If you have G6PD deficiency or a known sensitivity to naphthalene, it is best to check with a doctor first.
Keep it in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from heat, light and moisture, as henna's dye strength fades over time once exposed. For long-term freshness, sealed henna powder can even be kept in the freezer. Slight variation in the green shade between batches is normal for a pure, natural powder.
